Privacy Policy for Property Previewer

Information We Collect

Property Previewer is designed to enhance your property search experience while keeping the data we collect to a minimum.

If you don't sign in, we do not collect any personally identifiable information. Signing in is optional and unlocks saving, price-change tracking, and hiding listings.

The extension handles the following types of data:

• Data Stored Locally on Your Device: To provide its features, the extension stores some data directly in your browser's local storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers and remains on your computer. This includes:
  • User Settings: Your preferences for the preview panel, such as its position, size, and whether it starts minimized.
• Anonymous Property Data: To build the price history feature for all users, the extension collects and sends anonymous data about property listings to our secure backend service. This data is strictly non-personal and is never linked to your account, your IP address, or any other personal identifier.
• Account Data (only if you sign in): You can sign in with Google or with an email and password. If you sign in we store:
  • The email address associated with your sign-in (and, if you use a password, a securely hashed version of that password).
  • The properties you save, the collections you create, the status tags (New, Shortlisted, Viewing, Offered, Dismissed) and personal notes you attach, and the listings you choose to hide.
  • The price of each saved listing at the moment you saved it, so we can show the change since you saved.

How We Use Information

• Locally Stored Data: Is used solely to provide and improve the extension's functionality on your device. For example, remembering your settings.
• Anonymous Property Data: Is used to build an aggregated, anonymous database of property price changes. This allows the extension to display the "Price History" feature to you and other users.
• Account Data: Is used only to provide your account features — syncing your saved properties, notes, collections, and hidden listings across devices, and showing the price change since you saved.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or rent any data with third parties. The anonymous property data and any account data sent to our backend are used only to operate the Property Previewer extension. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google receives the standard information needed to authenticate you according to Google's privacy policy; we do not share your account data with Google beyond that.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing propertypreviewer@rhettio.com.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. All communication with our backend services is encrypted using standard SSL/TLS protocols. Data stored locally is as secure as your browser's own storage mechanism.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
